Rusalka part 1 | Short comic

£7.00

Rusalka is a mysterious water demon of Slavic mythology: living by the lake in the ancient Forest, she is the deadly threat luring in lost wanderers...or so the old legends say. But who really is Rusalka and how did she come to be? Where do her powers come from and what dark secrets might hide in her fragmented memories?

"Rusalka" - a prologue for a larger story - is a debut comic book from Pigeon (that's me!). It received an award from the Polish Comics Association in the Best Debut Category (2022) and the Polish Indie Comics Award in categories Comic and Debut (2022).

Part 2 - "Whispers of the Forest" - is available as a graphic novel published by Strangers Publishing.

The story was born from fascination with rich Polish folklore (rarely explored in English language) and the personal passion for small press publications. Each page is illustrated in full colour in order to create an immersive experience.
